Under the excellent guidance of competent faculty in our department, combined with high-quality professional training, we have cultivated numerous outstanding professionals in the field of social work, adept in both academic knowledge and practical skills.   The integration of theory and practice, where theory supports the practical application and practice validates and refines the applicability of theory, has always been one of the key objectives pursued in our department's teaching. Under this guiding principle, many students choose to pursue the highest academic degree in our department - a Ph.D. Upon graduation, they continue to embrace this philosophy and dedicate themselves to teaching and research in the field of social work. Remarkable alumni who exemplify this commitment include Professor Li Yi-Jun (Ph.D. graduate, second cohort), currently serving as a Professor and Vice President at the National Tainan Junior College of Nursing, specializing in Elderly Care Services; and Teacher Lai Yueh-Mi (Ph.D. graduate, third cohort), presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at Tzu Chi University.
• 擔任公職
  After receiving four years of professional education and training in the Social Work Department, some graduates choose to enter the government sector through national examinations. The most direct path is taking the "Public Social Worker" exam, which allows them to work in the public sector, providing direct social services. Alternatively, they can take the Social Administration Examination to join the administrative sector, where they contribute to the concrete implementation of social policies and legislation.

  Graduates may also opt for positions in general administration, personnel administration, guardian roles, labor administration, or other related roles within the government. Remarkable alumni, such as Director Chang Chin-Li (Ph.D. graduate, second cohort), currently serve as the Director of New Taipei City's Social Affairs Department; and Wang Yan-Chin (Master's graduate, first cohort), currently holds a prominent position as an inspector at the Social Assistance and Social Work Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

  These exceptional graduates have achieved remarkable success in their government careers, making valuable contributions to society through their roles in various administrative and social service capacities.

  Due to the limited number of social administrative personnel or public social workers recruited by the government each year, many graduates from the Social Work Department choose to work in private non-profit organizations, including associations or foundations. The services offered by these non-profit organizations vary based on their professional focus and may include child welfare services, youth services, women's services, elderly services, labor services, community services, and more.

  Remarkable alumni, such as Zhang Lin-Liu (Master's graduate, fifth cohort), currently serve as the Director of the Private Family Development Academy affiliated with the Taiwan Children and Family Assistance Foundation, located in Taichung.

  These outstanding graduates have found fulfilling careers in various non-profit organizations, dedicating themselves to serving diverse communities and making a positive impact on society through their professional expertise and dedication.

• 進入醫療院所擔任醫務社會工作者
  In addition to providing professional medical, diagnostic, and nursing services, larger hospitals also establish social service departments and recruit specialized medical social workers to provide related services. These services include assisting patients facing difficulties in seeking medical care or obtaining appropriate care after discharge, as well as providing support to economically disadvantaged patients who are unable to afford medical expenses. The primary responsibility of medical social workers in hospitals is to connect patients with the necessary resources and facilitate any actions that can promote smooth access to medical care.

  Outstanding alumni, such as Lin Chiu-Ying (Master's graduate, Class of 103), currently serve as the Chief of the Social Work Studio at China Medical University Hospital.

  These exceptional graduates play a vital role in hospitals, working as medical social workers, and their contributions ensure that patients receive the necessary support and assistance to navigate through their healthcare journey effectively.

• 自行創立社會企業
  Social enterprises are innovative organizations that use economic means to address social and environmental issues and achieve social objectives. Such organizations can either establish entirely new entities to fulfill their missions or enable traditional non-profit organizations to explore different avenues of generating income (e.g., as seen in the case of "Xi En Bakery"). This helps them achieve sustainable operations or allows regular businesses to actively engage in social services and take up corporate social responsibilities.

  Outstanding alumni, such as Chen Hua-Hong (Bachelor's graduate, Class of the first cohort), currently serve as the CEO of "Dou Zhen Social Enterprise."

  These exceptional graduates exemplify the spirit of social entrepreneurship, harnessing business strategies to bring positive change and social impact while striving for long-term viability and sustainability.

生涯發展

學士

在本系學士班畢業之學生基本上需要建構出五大能力(人類行為與社會環境的基礎知識、與個人/家庭/團體及社區工作的能力、服務規劃與評估的能力、政策分析與服務管理的能力、及社會工作倫理思辨能力)，在具備這些能力後除了可選擇再進修之外，亦可直接投入就業市場，擔任一位稱職的專業社會工作者。

 

碩士

在本系取得碩士學位後，相同的可選擇繼續升學、就業、或自行創業。

博士

在本系取得博士學位者，目前多任教於國內大學或擔任政府社政部門重要職位。
